Kyle Palmieri is an American professional ice hockey for the National Hockey League’s (NHL) New Jersey Devils. Although he was born in Smithtown, New York, Palmieri grew up in Montvale, New Jersey, played with the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club and attended St. Peter’s Prep School in Jersey City, New Jersey. He then joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan and went on to play college hockey for the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish for one season.


Palmieri was drafted 26th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. He made his professional debut with the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Syracuse Crunch during the 2010 – 2011 season. On November 3, 2010, the Anaheim Ducks recalled Palmieri from the Syracuse Crunch to play in his NHL debut against the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he would go on to score his first NHL goal. On June 26, 2015, after five years in the Anaheim Ducks organization, Palmieri was traded by the Anaheim Ducks to the New Jersey Devils, his hometown team.


In 2010, Palmieri won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championships in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He also won two bronze medals at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, NY and at the 2008 under-18 World Junior Championships in Kazan, Russia. Palmieri also represented Team USA at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto, Ontario and at the 2012 IIHF World Championship in Helsinki, Finland.
