Who The Devil is Kyle Palmieri

Devils forward Kyle Palmieri made history at the start of this season by being the first player in the NHL to score the opening goal in four straight games to start the regular season. He currently has 14 points in nine games this season, with nine goals and five assists. Although we can rattle off stats about this Jersey boy hailing from Montvale, we have a few other facts that fans probably didn't know.

Palmieri, nicknamed Palms, was born in Long Island, New York but grew up in the Garden State. He started playing hockey at the age of five and was always a fan of the hometown team.

The Devils forward also played soccer, baseball, and golf while growing up. In fact, his favorite non-hockey athlete is Tiger Woods and he said if he wasn't a hockey player, he'd definitely be a golfer.

Interestingly enough, his first job was as a skate sharpener and his favorite school subject while growing up was math. His favorite holiday is Christmas and we haven't found out yet if he showers his pup, Penelope, with gifts during the holiday, but we're hoping it's a yes. At least we know him and his fiancé, Ashlee, keep her festive for other holidays!

When we wanted to find out what his favorite movie is, we were a little upset he didn't ask us if we wanted to know right meow, and instead just answered with Super Troopers. We'll forgive him though, as long as he includes us next time he whips up something in the kitchen, as this right winger likes to cook.

For fans who missed the announcement back in August, the Kyle Palmieri Foundation launched prior to this season. Palmieri and his fiancé created this foundation to give back to those who put their lives on the line to preserve our freedoms as Americans. Squad 21, where Kyle welcomes current and past military members and their families to a home game and meets with them afterwards, is in its second season.
